Who put the Order in my Chaos?

‘Tis The Season

To avoid malls more than I normally do. In fact, I try to avoid any store at this time of year, period. This of course does make it a tad difficult to complete one’s seasonal shopping, and thus, I haven’t started. I don’t like shopping at any time of year; in fact, I loathe it. The only stores I will walk into willingly at any time of year are bookstores, computer stores, and office supply stores. I can be cajoled into browsing around IKEA and Pier 1 Imports-sometimes I can even be dragged into the odd junk or antique store, but that doesn’t happen very often.

Why do I hate shopping so much, you ask? Because the bulk of the shopping public is comprised of stupid people, and those who aren’t stupid, are rude-and then there is that minority who are both stupid and rude. I pity the poor retail salespeople who have to deal with such people, I really do. For a season which is supposed to espouse good will and cheer, it certainly brings out the rabid nastiness in alot of people. So what if you have to wait in line. So does everyone else. Complaining about it just makes you look even more like the stupid idiot you are. Why yell at the cashier because something’s not listed in the computer’s product database or doesn’t have a price sticker on it? It’s not their fault someone else hasn’t done his or her job properly.

Then there are those who stand in the middle of the aisle, effectively blocking the whole passageway. WHY do you need to do this, and just why are you standing there staring at six shelves of the same product? Are you hoping that one will jump off the shelf into your cart, thereby saving you the effort of picking it up? And for those of you who *insist* on leaving your shopping cart parked at some inconvenient angle in the aisle while you wander further down said aisle, WHY do you do that? Do you think it will follow you when you whistle for it? Take it with you as you move down the aisle. Stupid people.

Happy Holidays =)
