Frustration
I realize that DeviantART is a very busy website, but good gawds some days it is just pathetic with its slowness and timeouts. Today is the worst it has been in ages, and it makes me wonder what the hell they do with their money, because it sure as heck doesn’t seem to be spent on their servers. This morning it took me three tries to get one image posted, then it took quite some time for another shot to show up at all. Tonight DA timed out 5 times in a row when I was submitting new shots. Now it’s not showing my new submissions in my gallery. GRRRRRRR Very frustrating to say the least.
Other than that, what started out as a nasty stormy day turned into an afternoon of sunshine and one of the prettiest sunsets I’ve seen…since it decided to be overcast every day. I posted some of tonight’s sunset photos on both DA and the killagraphix forum, and will post some other shots I took over the coming days. Have to save a few just in case the weather decides to be mean again.
I also took some photos today that are meant to be developed into HDRI’s. I’ve never tried this format before and it should be interesting; hopefully they will turn out alright. I’ve met someone on DA who is willing to help me if I have any problems, so that will help.
Tuesday night Mike and I are going to the official Vancouver launch of 3D Studio Max 9 along with some of the other industry people. That should be a fun night, and Mike will get to harass some of the developers we know. I’ll be sure to post a full report of my impressions of Max 9; I think they are also introducing another new programme, but I’d have to look to be sure and I don’t feel like digging through my kazillion emails to check.
Other than that, it’s time to get serious about finishing the new KillaNet; there’s still tons of work to be done and time keeps marching forward to KN’s 3rd birthday.
Oh yes…I also need to kick Mike’s butt for getting Hammerfall stuck in my head today. Rotten kid =P
